Alamo event coincides with Travis Letter display

On Friday, March 1, the Alamo in San Antonio will host a special ceremony celebrating the legendary arrival of the “Immortal 32,” coinciding with the display of the Travis Letter. This marks only the second time that the Travis Letter has been at the Alamo since it was written in 1836.

Local Black History Month Celebration continues to grow

From a gathering of about 20 two years ago at the downtown gazebo to around 100 in 2023 under the Wolters Park Pavilion, Schulenburg’s third Black History Month Celebration swelled to fill the Knights of Columbus Schulenburg Hall this past Saturday, Feb. 24.

Council candidate withdraws

One of the four candidates who filed for a seat on the Schulenburg City Council withdrew on Wednesday, Feb. 21. City Secretary Mason Florus reported to the Council at its meeting Wednesday night that Jake Berger removed his name from the race for Place 5 alderman against Kathy Kleiber.
