Weimar KCs Fried Catfish Dinners During Lent
Weimar Knights of Columbus Council 2153 is holding a drive-thru fried catfish dinner Fridays during Lent – April 1 and April 8 – from 5 to 7 p.m. or until sold out at the St. Michael Catholic Church Family Center in Weimar. Cost will be $12 per plate. The Catholic Daughters will be selling desserts.
Schulenburg Sausagefest
The seventh annual Schulenburg Sausagefest will be held on Saturday, April 2 in downtown Schulenburg from 11:15 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
The event will start at 11:15 a.m. with the “Shortest Parade in Texas.” Live music all day will feature Jarrod Birmingham, The Czechaholics and Mark Halata & Texavia. There will also be a hog-calling contest, sausage-toss contest, arts/crafts vendors, children’s activities, grand march, fun run, American Legion black bean motorcycle ride, biergarten and food.

Oakland Firemen’s Dinner
The Oakland firemen’s dinner will be held on Sunday, April 3 starting at 10:30 a.m. at the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department station. The drive-thru-only plates will include chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans and peach cobbler. Cost will be $12 each. A sportsman’s drawing will also be held, with tickets available at Hill Bank & Trust Inc. and Susie’s Bakery in Weimar and from OVFD personnel.
Schulenburg Little League Fried Fish Dinner
The Schulenburg Little League will serve a drive-thru-only fried fish dinner on Friday, April 8 starting at 5 p.m. at the High Hill Hall. The $12 plates will include fried fish, beans, coleslaw, hush puppies and tartar sauce. Tickets are available from any Schulenburg Little League player and will also be available at the hall the day of the fish fry.
In addition, Schulenburg Little League opening ceremonies will be held on Saturday, April 9 at 9 a.m. at the Sports Complex.

Schulenburg Sharks Swim Team Registration
The Schulenburg Sharks swim team will hold registration on Saturday, April 9 and Saturday, April 16 from 9 a.m. to noon in the SISD new gym.
Youth age 6 to under 18 can participate. Cost is $75 for the first swimmer and $65 for each additional swimmer. Registration received after April 30 will cost an extra $20 per swimmer. Forms should be printed out from www.sburgsharks.weebly.com and brought to registration.

St. Rose Altar Society Palm Sunday Dinner
The St. Rose Altar Society will hold its Palm Sunday Dinner on April 10 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Schulenburg Hall. The drive-thru-only plates will cost $12 each and include fried chicken with all the trimmings. A bake sale will also be held.
Legion Raising Funds for SISD Band Trip to D.C.
Schulenburg American Legion Post 143 is helping raise funds to defray the costs for the Schulenburg ISD band to go to Washington, D.C. to perform in the National Memorial Day parade on Monday, May 30.
Donations of any amount are being accepted by Post 143 and 100 percent of all funds raised will be donated to the band for its expenses for this event. Donations can be mailed to Schulenburg American Legion Post 143, Band Fundraiser, P.O. Box 441, Schulenburg, TX 78956. Deadline for donations is May 1.
