St. Rose HSA Pigs-in--Blanket and Ham-and-Cheese Rolls sale
The St. Rose School HSA is how taking orders for fresh-baked pigs-ina-blanket and ham-and-cheese rolls. Cost is $20 per dozen and $11 for a half dozen. St. Rose School’s ‘Christmas Around the World’
“Christmas Around the World” benefitting St. Rose of Lima Catholic School will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Schulenburg Hall. A children’s program will begin at 4:30 p.m., with a German auction starting 30 minutes after the program. A beef stew dinner (dine-in or take-out) will be served starting at 5:30 p.m. The International Food Court featuring foods from around the world will open at 5:30 p.m. There will also be a children’s carnival with inflatable playground, carnival games and cake walk. Weimar KCs Chicken Fried Steak Dinner
Weimar Knights of Columbus Council 2902 will hold a chicken fried steak dinner with sides on Sunday, Dec. 11 from 10:30 a.m. until sold out at the St. Michael Catholic Church Family Center, North Center Street, Weimar. Cost is $12 each for the drive-thru-only plates.
First Baptist Church Christmas Cantata
First Baptist Church will present its 35th annual Christmas Cantata, titled “O Come Let Us Adore Him,” on Sunday, Dec. 11 starting at 6:30 p.m. at the church, located at 110 North Upton Ave. in Schulenburg. Food and fellowship will be held afterward. Everyone is invited to come enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of Christmas!
Christmas Decorating Contest
The Greater Schulenburg Chamber of Commerce is seeking entries in its residential and commercial Christmas decorating contest.
All entries must be received at the Chamber office by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 14. Judging will be Friday, Dec. 16 between 6 and 9 p.m. Winning entries will be photographed on Saturday, Dec. 17 or Sunday, Dec. 18. There is no cost to enter. Entries must have a Christmas theme and be within a five-mile radius of Schulenburg. Decisions of the judges are final. Prizes will be given to first, second and third place residential winners and trophies to first, second and third place commercial winners.

Drive-thru Nativity, Christmas Pageant in Weimar
St. Michael Catholic School in Weimar will host a drive-thru nativity, “A Journey to Bethlehem,” on Tuesday, Dec. 13 from 6 to 7 p.m. at 103 E. North St. in Weimar (enter on Mechanic Street), weather permitting. In addition. St. Michael Catholic Church will host its annual Christmas pageant, this year titled “Christmas at Bethlehem Gulch,” on Thursday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. at the St. Michael Family Center in Weimar.
Christmas Dinner For Those Who Are Alone
The annual Christmas dinner for those who are alone will be served on Christmas Day, Sunday, Dec. 25, from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Schulenburg Hall. Plates will be drive-thru, or the homebound can call the CCA Center, 979-743-4036, or Sheila Brossmann, 979-743-3576. RSVP is required by Thursday, Dec. 22. There will be a limit of two plates per family. The meal is sponsored by the Schulenburg KCs and volunteers.
Christmas, New Year’s Holidays
Most local businesses will be closed on Monday, Dec. 26 in observance of Christmas, and Monday, Jan. 2 in observance of New Year’s (when the holiday falls on a Sunday, it is traditionally observed on Monday). The City of Schulenburg will be closed on Friday, Dec. 23 and Monday, Dec. 26 for Christmas and on Monday, Jan. 2 for New Year’s.
Sticker Will Not Be Published Dec. 29
The Sticker will not have an issue on Thursday, Dec. 29, and staff will be on vacation from Thursday, Dec. 22 at noon through Wednesday, Dec. 28. The Sticker’s Christmas edition will be published on Thursday, Dec. 22.
