A murder suspect traveling on Interstate 10 in Fayette County was taken into custody in Columbus on Tuesday, Dec. 27, according to Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek.
Sheriff Korenek reports that around 11 a.m., Sgt. Randy Thumann received information from Department of Public Safety Trooper Landon Rabun in reference to a possible murder suspect traveling on I-10 eastbound in Fayette County.
Sgt. Thumann immediately notified Austin County Sheriff’s Office, Westside HIDTA Task Force and Regional Special Response Team. Westside HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas) Task Force encompasses Austin, Waller, Colorado and Fayette counties.
