Vivian Mae Dieringer

Vivian Mae Dieringer, 98, of Schulenburg passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Schulenburg Regency Nursing Center.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Schulenburg, officiated by Pastor Jerry Evins, with interment in the City Cemetery in Schulenburg.

Vivian was born on May 8, 1924 in Kansas to Madison and Caroline Alexander. She graduated from high school in 1942 in Kansas. She worked as a beautician and a seamstress most of her life. She married Oscar Dieringer on Oct. 6, 1968. She was a 50-year member of the Schulenburg American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Hermann Sons and First United Methodist Church. She made lap blankets for many residents in the nursing home. For five years, she also gave manicures to the residents. She loved dancing, sewing, gardening and volunteering anywhere she could be of help. Vivian was always a happy person and “could crack you up at any time,” her family writes.

She is survived by a daughter, Denise Briggs and husband Troy of New Mexico; son, Gary Dieringer and wife Victoria of Florida; daughter-in-law, Gilda Dieringer of San Antonio; brothers-in-law, Elroy Dieringer of Schulenburg and Clarence Dieringer of Houston; sister, June Alexander of Kansas; brother, Sam Alexander of California; 10 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Charles, John and Boyd Alexander; a sister, Josephine Westwood; sons, Ron and Terry Dieringer; and numerous other family members.

Pallbearers for her service were son Gary Dieringer; and nephews Delvin Dieringer, Richard Dieringer, Michael Dieringer, Jimmy Dieringer and Clinton Guentert.

Memorials may be sent to Schulenburg American Legion Auxiliary, Hermann Sons Scholarship Fund in Schulenburg, First United Methodist Church in Schulenburg or the charity of one’s choice.
