Even with multiple injuries impacting the lineup, the Shorthorns were able to build a 20-point lead last Friday in Thorndale. But, after a Bulldog comeback, they needed some clutch plays to start district with a 41-40 win.
Rodney H Walton heeded his head coach’s instructions to “lay out” after the game-tying touchdown with 5:24 left, diving to block the extra-point kick.
On the first play of overtime, Aaron Janecek kept on a quarterback power play over right tackle to score his sixth touchdown of the game from 25 yards out. Then, as the holder, he handled a low snap for Brycen Schramek to kick the extra point.
