The St. Rose Cardinals traveled to Victoria last Wednesday, Sept. 20 and defeated the OLV Eagles “B” team by a score of 28-0.
St. Rose kicked off to start the game and the Eagles put together a time consuming, 13-play drive that used all of the first quarter and two minutes of the second quarter. It was kept alive by a successful fake punt.
The Cardinal defense eventually held as Chris Campos forced an incompletion on third down and Rilee Durfey made a great tackle on fourth down. The St. Rose offense needed four plays to score with Denver Carr capping the drive with a 31-yard run. The conversion failed but the Cardinals led 6-0.
