Instead of inches, it was more like a game of a yard or so for the Shorthorns in Holland last Friday.
That’s how close they were to going up by 10 points with under six minutes left but a fumble through the end zone helped the Hornets fend off Schulenburg 36-32.
The win clinched the District 13-2ADivision I championship for Holland and knocked the Horns, who were 17-point underdogs, out of the title race. Schulenburg has secured a playoff spot, either third place with a win over Thrall this Friday or fourth place with a loss.
