The Lady Horns got off to a slow start in the District 27-2A finale at home last Tuesday against Shiner but regrouped to win the match 3-2.
The Lady Comanches needed a victory to avoid a second-play tie with Weimar and came out strong, taking the first two sets. Schulenburg answered in the third and fourth games before jumping ahead 5-0 to start the fifth set. The Lady Horns held off a couple of Shiner runs to stay up by five at 10-5 and 12-7, closing out the match 15-9 to finish off district play 10-0.
The Lady Comanches and Ladycats both ended up 7-3. Rather than a playoff, seeding was decided by coin flip and Shiner won the second-place spot. Flatonia claimed fourth place ahead of Louise and Ganado.
