Schulenburg ‘Shop Local Days’
The Schulenburg Chamber of Commerce is promoting “Shop Local Days” thru Friday, Dec. 22. To participate, pick up an entry card at a participating retailer and spend at least $20 at five different locations (the card should be signed, initialed or stamped at each location). The card should then be turned in to the Chamber office by 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 22 to be entered in a drawing for gift cards or cash prizes.
Christmas Eve Service at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church
St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church invites the public to its Christmas Eve service, “Lesson of the Carols,” on Saturday, Dec. 24 at 5 p.m. Holy Communion will be given.The church is located at 712 Summit St. (corner of Hillje and Highway 90).
Christmas Services at Zion Lutheran Church
Zion Lutheran Church welcomes everyone to services on Christmas Eve (Sunday, Dec. 24) at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. and on Christmas Day (Monday, Dec. 25) at 9 a.m. Zion Lutheran Church is located at 103 Keuper Ave.
Christmas Dinner For Those Who Are Alone
The annual Christmas dinner for those who are alone will be held on Christmas Day, Monday, Dec. 25, from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Schulenburg Hall. Plates will be drive-thru, or the homebound can call the CCA Center, 979-743-4036, or Sheila Brossmann, 979-743-3576. RSVP is required by Friday, Dec. 22. There will be a limit of two plates per family. The meal is sponsored by the Schulenburg KCs and volunteers.
Christmas, New Year’s Holidays
Most local businesses will be closed on Monday, Dec. 25 in observance of Christmas, and Monday, Jan. 1 in observance of New Year’s.
City of Schulenburg offices will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 25- 26 for Christmas and on Monday, Jan. 1 for New Year’s. However, residential garbage pickup will still take place on the north side of town on Tuesday, Dec. 26 (the usual pickup day).
Fayette County offices will also be closed on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 25-26 for Christmas and on Monday, Jan. 1 for New Year’s.
Sticker Will Not Be Publ ished Dec . 28
The Sticker will not have an issue on Thursday, Dec. 28, and staff will be on vacation from Thursday, Dec. 21 through Wednesday, Dec. 27.
In addition, the Sticker will be closed on Monday, Jan. 1 for New Year’s and the deadline for the Thursday, Jan. 4 issue for all items – ads, classifieds, articles and photos – will be Friday, Dec. 29 at noon.
