The Texas Czech Heritage & Cultural Center (TCHCC) in La Grange invites the public to the opening of the “From the Silver Czech Toler to the US Dollar” exhibit on Friday, Jan. 12 at 3 p.m.
The exhibit is being presented by the East Bohemia Museum in Pardubice and the University of Pardubice, Czech Republic.
The 10-panel Petr Vorel coin exhibit will familiarize viewers with the history of the dollar’s currency that began in a deep forest gorge in the northwest part of today’s Czech Republic and has lasted for almost half a millennium. The exhibit marks the occasion of 500 years of the Silver Thaler in Bohemia.
