Cardinals close out school year with success in spring sports

  • SOCCER – St. Rose fielded its second soccer team this year, playing three games and placing second at the Diocese of Victoria Athletic League Tournament.   • TENNIS – St. Rose hosted a Diocese of Victoria Athletic League Tennis tournament, led by coach Sandy Zaruba, in Hallettsville on Tuesday, May 7. The Cardinals had 22 entries with 13 winning medals. The tourney included 160 entries with 236 students competing. Helping during the season with practices and at tournaments were Drew Brossmann, Matt Bartek, Shannon Hollas, Megan Taylor, Kristin Herzik, and Lindsey Schiffli.
    TENNIS – St. Rose hosted a Diocese of Victoria Athletic League Tennis tournament, led by coach Sandy Zaruba, in Hallettsville on Tuesday, May 7. The Cardinals had 22 entries with 13 winning medals. The tourney included 160 entries with 236 students competing. Helping during the season with practices and at tournaments were Drew Brossmann, Matt Bartek, Shannon Hollas, Megan Taylor, Kristin Herzik, and Lindsey Schiffli.
  • GOLF – St. Rose had 22 golfers compete in the Hallettsville Sacred Heart Golf Tournament on Monday, May 13. Winning medals were: (front, from left) Cal Schiffli, third place and closest-to-the-pin; Miranda Bonner, third place; Jenna Guentert, sixth place (tie); Saybra Pinney, sixth place (tie); (back, from left) Charlie Shank, third place; and Adam Schramek, sixth place.
