Reunions

CERNOCH

The descendants of Jon Cernoch will have their 36th biennial family reunion on Saturday, June 1 at the Dubina KJT Hall.

Registration will begin at 11 a.m. with lunch around noon. Family members are asked to please bring a meal for the family to share. A meeting and activities will follow lunch.

Appelt

The Appelt family is proud to be celebrating its 60th reunion on Sunday, June 2 at Appelt’s Hill Hall near Hallettsville. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. and lunch will be served at noon. A meal of stew, sausage and side dishes will be provided by the reunion, as well as individual cans and bottles of cold drinks.

Members are asked to bring an item for the prize drawing, a small dessert and any updates to the family tree. A children’s petting zoo, gift bags and a group photo will be a part of this special celebration, so come join in the fun and fellowship!

Schoener

The Schoener reunion is returning on Sunday, June 2 at the KC Hall in Schulenburg. Gathering will start at 11 a.m. and a meal will be served at noon. Families should bring enough food for themselves. Tea, coffee, plates, napkins, cups and plastic-ware will be provided.

The registration fee, to help defray the cost of the hall, is $10 per family and $5 for individuals. Once registered, each person will receive one ticket and should put half of the ticket in the general bucket at the registration table and keep the other half. Tickets will be drawn from the general bucket for prizes.

Each family is asked to bring two prizes, one for the door prize on stage and the other for a bucket drawing. The prize can be something simple and inexpensive (sodas, plants, games, etc.). Those who have children might bring a prize for a child.

Near the registration table, tickets will be sold for the bucket drawing (the reunion’s moneymaker). Bucket drawing tickets will be $1 each or seven for $5. A person can buy as many as he or she wants. Prizes should be something that a person would want to take chances on.

A short meeting will be held, followed by the drawings. Games, dominoes and cards should be brought to spend time meeting other family members and enjoying one another.

Whether planning to attend or not, family members are asked to contact Robbie Schoener via text/phone at 210-300-6867 or email at allenschoener@yahoo. com. Those planning to attend can also text Judith Hanzelka at 361-550-3296 or Linda Ohnheiser at 979-249-7515.
