Dennis Dean Schulz, 75, of Alvin, stepped into eternal light on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 after a brief illness He was born on Jan. 20, 1949 to parents Charles Henry Schulz and Gisella Neirlich Schulz in Schulenburg, who both preceded him in death.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Dianne Manning Schulz; one son, Christopher; sister, Donna Konvicka; brother, Glenn Schulz (Karen); special sister-in-law, Shirley Hale-Gage; and special brother-in-law, Donald Manning. He also leaves six nephews, one niece and many friends near and far to cherish his memories.
Dennis was a military veteran serving in the United State Navy (USS Saratoga). His career of 38 years with Shell//Hexion afforded him many opportunities, one being allowed to work in Kaohsiung, Korea and Taiwan, China. After retirement in 2015, he and Dianne enjoyed traveling, sight-seeing and cruises to various cities and countries. Another of his hobbies was flying and ultra-light flying and any new electronic devices as soon as they were marketed. Dennis was also very dedicated to the gym, making many friends there. He also loved being with the “neighborhood gang” – sitting around a firepit chatting, always welcoming any newcomers to join in.
Dennis will forever be remembered as a most loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend – funny and kind to everyone he knew. Many say they loved his story-telling abilities. He is now healthy and whole again in the presence of Jesus.
He was interred with military honors in Dean Cemetery, Marion, Louisiana on Monday, June 24, 2024 at 2 p.m. A memorial visitation was held Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 2 to 3 p.m. at Scott Funeral Home in Alvin, with a Celebration of Life service beginning at 3 p.m.
