Weimar Knights of Columbus Fried Catfish Dinner
Weimar KC Council 2153 will serve a hand-battered fried catfish dinner on Sunday, Sept. 22 from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. (or sold out) at the St. Michael Catholic Church Family Center in Weimar. Cost is $14 for the drive-thru-only plates. Catholic Daughters will be selling desserts.
Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church Picnic in Cistern
Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church will hold a picnic on Sunday, Sept. 22 under the shady pavilion on the parish grounds in Cistern.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. A meal of fried chicken and V&V sausage will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (self-serve, walk-up plates or drive-thru). Cost will be $14 for large plates/plates-to-go and $10 for small plates. Hamburgers and sausage wraps will be sold from 1 to 7 p.m.
An auction will begin at 1 p.m. Balloon artist Bobby Cordell will be on hand from 1 to 3 p.m. with a magic show at 3 p.m. Music by Texas Sound Check Band will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and music/karaoke with Vic Rodriguez from 4 to 7 p.m. There will also be bingo (noon to 4 p.m.), water slide (11 a.m. to 5 p.m.), country store, cake/plant spin and games.

Children’s Soccer League
FBC in the ‘Burg will host a children’s soccer league, with registration set for Saturday, Sept. 28 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Schulenburg, 110 North Upton. Games will be played Tuesdays in October at 6 p.m. beginning Oct. 1. The league is open to youth ages 5-10. Boys & girls mixed teams will play. Happy Tails benefitting Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter
The 2024 Happy Tails fundraiser benefitting the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter will be held at the Schulenburg KC Hall on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 6 to 10 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by Texas Unlimited Band. St. Rose Round Up
The St. Rose of Lima Catholic School Roundup will be held on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 8 p.m. to midnight at Swiss Alp Hall, featuring a dance by the Matt Bonner Band and an auction.
