TCHCC Heritage Fest & Muziky
TheTexas Czech Heritage & Cultural Center, 250West Fairgrounds Road, La Grange, will host Heritage Fest & Muziky on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 18-19.There will be live music, heritage demonstrations, family activities, classic car show, antique farm equipment show, etc.
Polka Lovers Club of Texas Museum Fall Open House
The Polka Lovers Club of Texas Museum in La Grange will hold a Heritage Fest & Muziky fall open house Oct. 18-19.
On Friday, Oct. 18, hours will be 5 to 7 p.m. with polka/waltz lessons for all ages at 5:30 p.m. On Saturday, Oct. 19, hours will be 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. with polka/waltz lessons for all ages at 11:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
There will be entertainment, refreshments and polka fun both days. The museum is located at 275 West Fairgrounds Road, La Grange. For more information, visit plctm.com.
Knights of Columbus Turkey Dinner and Blood Drive
Knights of Columbus Council 2902 will hold its 34th annualTurkey Fest on Sunday, Oct. 20 at the Schulenburg Hall. Plates with baked turkey, dressing and three sides will be served starting at 10:30 a.m. or when food is ready. Cost is $15 each for the drive-thru-only plates. Any extra food will be sold inside the hall no sooner than 12:30 p.m.
In addition, a blood drive will be held by the SouthTexas Blood &Tissue Center from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Bloodmobile. Anyone who gives blood will receive a free plate donated by the KCs. Stray Gathering Cowboy Church Fall Roundup
Stray Gathering Cowboy Church, 211 West FM 2237, Muldoon, will hold a Fall Roundup on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A chuckwagon lunch of stew, cornbread, biscuits and dessert will be served for $10 for adults (children 10 and under eat free). A dummy ropin’ contest will take place from 10 am. to noon with divisions for 12 & under and 13 & over. Entry fee is $10 and buckles will be awarded. 48th annual Weimar Firemen’s Dinner
The 48th annual dinner benefitting the Weimar Volunteer Fire Department will be held on Sunday, Oct. 27 atWeimarVeterans Memorial Hall. Drive-thru serving will start at 10:30 a.m. and serving in the hall will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. All plates are $15 and will include turkey, dressing, sausage and trimmings. An auction will be held at noon.
Zion Lutheran Church Stew Supper
The 32nd annual Zion Lutheran Church pre-deer season stew supper will be held Monday, Oct. 28 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran parking lot on Keuper St. The drive-thru-only meal will include stew, bread, crackers and dessert. The $12 tickets (presale only) are available at the church office or Sticker office.
