Verlene Mae Hoffmann, 85, of Schulenburg went to her heavenly home on Sunday Oct. 27, 2024.
She was born on June 1, 1939, in Schulenburg to George and Selma Kiesling. She attended both Freyburg and La Grange schools. On April 18, 1965, she was united in marriage to LeRoy Hoffmann at Zion Lutheran Church, Schulenburg. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Over the years, she taught Sunday school, assisted with summer vacation bible schools, was in charge of baby cradle roll and assisted with church potlucks and special functions. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She worked for Victor Stanzel Airplane Factory and was a mother and housewife.
She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Hoffmann of Victoria and Lenora Urban and husband Rodney and his son Christopher, all of Houston; son, Ronald Hoffmann of Victoria; one granddaughter, Addison Hoffmann of Victoria; brother-in-law, Eugene Hoffmann and wife Sherry of Weimar; sisters-in-law, Lanette Kahlden of Weimar and Delores Raab and husband David of Moulton; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and siblings. Visitation was held on Thursday Oct. 31, 2024 at Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home. The American Legion Auxiliary memorial service was held at 6:30 pm.
Funeral service was held on Friday, Nov. 1, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Schulenburg, with burial in the Schulenburg City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were George Boeger, Weldon Boeger, Gary Mendel, Joe Munsch, Robert Demel and Rodney Krhovjak.
