Mary Alice (Fritsch) Peters, 85, of Houston, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024.
Mary was born on Aug. 14, 1939, in San Antonio to parents Oscar and Edna (Foerster) Fritsch and grew up in Schulenburg. Mary married Frank Peters on Sept. 30, 1961 at St Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Schulenburg. Mary attended St. Rose Catholic School in Schulenburg and graduated class of ’57 from Schulenburg High School. Mary moved to Houston after high school, where she met Frank and they raised their family. She had a 27-year career in banking at Texas Commerce Bank, which became Chase Bank, and was an active parishioner at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church in Spring.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 52 years, Frank Peters; brother, Dan Fritsch; brothers-inlaw, Herb Lewis and Raimund Peters Jr.; and sisters-in-law, Norma Peters and Barbara Peters.
She is survived by her daughter, Kim De Nicola and husband Mike; son, Steve Peters and wife Shelly; son, Michael Peters; grandchildren, Jose, Rosie, Lauren, Kelly, Michael Jr., Brandon and wife Rachel, and Meagan and husband Trevor; four great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Lewis; brother, Charles Fritsch and wife Pat; sister-in-law, Jo Ann Fritsch; and brother-inlaw, John Peters Memorial contributions may be made to St Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church, 7810 Cypresswood Dr., Spring, TX 77379, the Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of one’s choice.
The Vigil for Mary Alice Peters will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025 at Klein Funeral Home–Champions and the funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 3, 2025, at St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church in Spring.
