Lindy Michael-Huser passed away peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on Thursday, April 17, 2025, where she now rests in eternal peace. She was the joy and foundation of her family, a devoted mother and grandmother, who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Lindy was born in San Saba on Jan. 19, 1928, to William Daniel Kelley and Bessie Lee Turner Kelley, being the fourth of five children. She grew up in San Saba, then moved to San Antonio where she worked as a telephone operator. In 1947, she married James D. Michael and together they raised three daughters. Her second marriage was to Paul Huser in 1989.
Blessed with a vivacious and fun-loving personality, Lindy always made people around her laugh. She loved listening to music, dancing, entertaining her friends around the kitchen table, and mothering anyone who needed it. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, or as she called it, “diggin’ in the dirt.” She had a firm hand when it was called for but always had unconditional love for her family.
Lindy is survived by her loving companion and favorite dance partner, Ed Hrncir of Hallettsville; daughters, Becky (Johnnie) Maroul of Bryan, Suzy (Larry) Hill of Houston, and Kathleen Marlow of College Station; granddaughter, Terri (Brett) Audilet of Hardin; stepson, Steven (Bridgett) Huser of La Grange; and step-grandson, Luke Huser of La Grange.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Judge Paul Huser; her former husband and father of her children, James D. Michael; her son-in-law, Robert A. Marlow; and her four siblings.
A graveside service was held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Flatonia, with Larry Hill officiating. Fayette County Judge Dan Mueller and Kathleen Marlow delivered eulogies.
