‘90 Miles on 90’ Yard & Antique Sales
“90 Miles on 90” featuring more than 90 miles of yard and antique sales will be held on Friday and Saturday, June 6-7 along Highway 90 and throughout participating towns, which include Sealy, Columbus, Glidden, Weimar, Schulenburg, Flatonia, Waelder, Harwood, Luling and Seguin.

St. Rose Parish Picnic
St. Rose of Lima Parish will hold its annual picnic on Sunday, June 8 at the KC Hall. Fried chicken/sausage plates with potatoes, sauerkraut, green beans and dessert will be $14 each. Drive-thru will start at 10:30 a.m. and dine-in at 11 a.m. A live auction will start at 12:30 p.m. and there will also be a silent auction.
Music will be by the Matt Bonner Band along with Alvin Minarcik starting at 4:30 p.m. (after the auction). Hamburgers, tamales, tacos, nachos, pudding, etc. will be served starting at 3:30 p.m. There will also be bingo (1 to 5 p.m. in the school gym) cake/plant walks, country store, Jimbo’s Italian Ice and more. Weimar Knights of Columbus Chicken Fried Steak Dinner
Weimar KC Council 2153 will serve a hand-battered chicken fried steak dinner on Sunday, June 22 from 10 a.m. until sold out at the St. Michael Catholic Church Family Center inWeimar. Cost is $14 each for th drive-thru-only plates.
St. John Parish Fourth of July Picnic
St. John Parish will hold its picnic on Friday, July 4 at the parish grounds in St. John. The “full old-time picnic” will start with Mass at 9 a.m. and a flag-raising at 10 a.m. A lunch of stew, fried chicken and trimmings (dine-in or take-home) will be served starting at 10:30 a.m. for $14 per plate. A free dance under the pavilion will also begin at 10:30 a.m. and feature Dujka Brothers, Red Ravens, Mark Halata & Texavia and Nathan Colt Young Band. An auction will begin at 12:30 p.m.
