Shiner hosted the Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) September Slam on Saturday, Sept. 6. Over 40 players from Victoria, Austin, Edna,Yoakum, Cuero, Goliad, and Hallettsville as well as four from Schulenburg competed.
Caden Herzik competed in the top-rated blue bracket and placed fourth. His match results were: 4-3, 3-5 (0-1); 4-1, 4-1; and 1-4, 3-4.
