Holman Catholic Church Picnic
The annual picnic of St. Wenceslaus Church will be held on Sunday, Sept. 21 at the parish grounds in Holman on FM 155 between La Grange & Weimar. A drive-thru-only meal will be served starting at 10:30 a.m. for $14 per plate. The plates will have fried chicken, sausage, buttered potatoes, sauerkraut, green beans, pickle and dessert.
An online auction will also be held, with bidding from Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 9 a.m. through Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. Items can be viewed and bids placed at www.charityauction.bid/HolmanPicnic.
St. Joseph’s Church Picnic in Moulton
St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Moulton will hold a picnic on Sunday, Sept. 21 at the St. Joseph’s Social Center. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at the church. A fried chicken/stew dinner will be served from 10:30 a.m. until sold out (dine-in, drive-thru plates-to-go and meat-to-go). Cost will be $15 per plate.
Music will be by Ken Brothers, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Vic Rodriguez, 2 to 6 p.m. An auction will start at 1 p.m. There will also be train ride, ball throw, fish pond, ring toss, cake walk, plant walk, country store, etc. Hamburgers, snow cones, popcorn and more will be available.
Pork Loin Dinner benefitting Boys & Girls Clubs
A drive-thru pork lion dinner benefitting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Champion Valley will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 24 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Wolters Park pavilion. The plates ($15 each) will include smoked pork lion, macaroni and cheese, green beans, broccoli salad and roll. Desserts will be available for a freewill donation.

Weimar KCs Chicken Fried Steak Dinner
Weimar Knights of Columbus Council 2153 will serve a chicken fried steak dinner on Sunday, Sept. 28 from 10 a.m. until sold out at the St. Michael Catholic Church Family Center in Weimar. The drive-thru-only plates will be $15 each and will include hand-battered chicken fried steak, twice-baked potatoes and broccoli salad.
SVFD Ladies Auxiliary Hamburger Steak Dinner
The Schulenburg Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will hold a hamburger steak dinner on Wednesday, Oct. 1 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the KC Hall. The take-home-only plates ($13 each) will include hamburger steak with gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, vegetable blend with cheese, roll and cookie.
