Sacred Heart Band Tamale Sale
The Sacred Heart-Hallettsville band is holding a tamale sale from Thursday, Oct. 9 to Monday, Oct. 27. Cost is $12 for a dozen tamales and $10 for a quart of salsa. Public Rosary Rally
The St. Anne Society and St. Joseph Society of St. Mary’s Parish-High Hill will host a public rosary rally on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 10 a.m. at the downtown gazebo on North Main Street.
Schulenburg Literary Club Chicken Fried Steak Dinner
The Literary Club will hold a drive-thru-only chicken fried steak dinner on Wednesday, Oct. 15 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the KC Hall. The plates ($14 each) will include chicken fried steak with gravy, twice-baked potatoes, buttered green beans, coleslaw, dessert and roll. Tickets are available at the Schulenburg Public Library, Apothecary Pharmacy, Schulenburg City Hall, Fayetteville Bank, Fayette Savings Bank, Hair Expressions, Grahmann’s True Value Hardware and from any Literary Club member.
City-Wide Garage Sale
A city-wide garage sale will be held on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 17-18. Maps will be available at the Schulenburg Chamber of Commerce office starting Wednesday, Oct. 15 and on its Facebook page. To be placed on the map, call the Chamber at 979-743-4514 by Friday, Oct. 10.
Knights of Columbus Turkey Dinner and Blood Drive
KC Council 2902 will hold its annual Turkey Fest on Sunday, Oct. 19 at the Schulenburg Hall. The drive-thru-only plates ($15 each) with baked turkey, dressing and three sides will be served starting at 10:30 a.m. or when food is ready. In addition, a blood drive will be held by the South Texas Blood Bank from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the mobile unit in the hall parking lot. Each donor will receive a free meal donated by the KCs. Zion Lutheran Church Stew Supper
The 33rd annual Zion Lutheran Church pre-deer season stew supper will be held Monday, Oct. 27 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran parking lot on Keuper St. The drive-thru-only meal will include stew, bread, crackers and dessert. The $12 tickets (presale only) are available at the church office or Sticker office.
