Praha Veterans Club president Bernard Svatek welcomed everyone and dedicated this year’s ceremonies to long-time Praha Veterans Club treasurer Johnnie Hoffman, who passed away earlier this year.
Guest speaker at the Praha Veterans Day ceremonies was Army Veteran Captain Josh Homan.
Bob Heinrich, Praha Veterans Club vice president, served as master of ceremonies.
Fayette County Judge Dan Mueller also welcomed everyone to the ceremonies.
Dennis Stryk sang “God Bless the USA” and the national anthem.
Schulenburg ISD band student Colton Knigge played “Taps” after the Triple Volley Salute.
Participating in the folding of the flag ceremony were (from left) Flatonia American Legion Post 94 commander Danny Vyvjala, Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 870 members Larry Hoffman and Donnie Christen, and Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 870 president Andy Janda.
T6 aircraft was part of the flyover by the Commemorative Air Force.
The 63rd anniversary All Veterans Day ceremonies were held on Sunday, Nov. 9 at the Praha Cemetery, honoring all veterans of all eras. The assembly began at 10:30 a.m. and the veterans memorial service started at 11 a.m. Prior to the ceremonies, a patriotic rosary was recited at 8:45 a.m. and Mass was offered for all veterans at 9:30 a.m. at the Praha Catholic Church.The ceremonies comme...
