Senior Spotlight on Monday, Jan. 5 in Schulenburg featured Frank Lafferty, a kind and gentle soul with a wonderful sense of humor. It was very touching to hear his life story and how he made his way to Flatonia and to Senior Connections. “We are lucky to have him as part of our family,” Stephanie Shroyer, program director, said, “Every morning, I tell myself to ‘Be Like Frank!’”
Guest speaker at the Weimar location on Tuesday, Jan. 6 was Rosemary Vasquez of Turbo Joe’s Pizzeria, International Cafe and Tea House in Weimar. Members were happy to hear about the vast array of menu items including Indian and Pakistani entries and a fresh salad bar. The community is blessed to have Vasquez and her husband.
At Senior Connections, membership is free for those age 55 and older, making it an inviting space for fun, camaraderie and the chance to make new friends while cherishing old ones.
