Free Meals at Stevens Chapel UMC on Feb. 26
Free meals will be served at Stevens Chapel United Methodist Church, 309 Wolters Ave., Schulenburg, on Thursday, Feb. 26 starting at 4 p.m. until all meals are served. Sign-up for the free meals can be made in advance but walk-ups are also welcome while the meals last. A QR code for sign up is provided in the ad on Page 3 of this issue. The meals are being supplied by Stevens Chapel United Methodist Church and New People/New Places grant provider.

Colorado Valley Quilt Guild ‘Best Little Quilt Show in Texas’
The Colorado Valley Quilt Guild will host the 28th annual “Best Little Quilt Show in Texas” at the LC Grange KC Hall, 190 South Brown St., La Grange, on Friday, Feb. 27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m and Saturday, Feb. 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission will be $10, with 12 & under admitted free.
The show will include over 150 traditional, contemporary and art quilts. In addition, there will be vendors, scissor sharpening, quilt drawing, basket drawing, and free books and magazines. For more information, visit www.ColoradoValleyqg.com.
Black History & Gospel Musical
Restitution Revival United and St. James Missionary Baptist Church will host a Black History & Gospel Musical on Saturday, Feb. 28 from noon to 3 p.m. at Wolters Park. This free event is open to the public and refreshments will be served.
Everyone is invited to come experience an uplifting showcase honoring the legacy, faith and achievements that have shaped history. There will be electrifying gospel music, heartfelt tributes and a vibrant atmosphere that brings the community together.
Ammannsville KJT Building Fund Benefit Dinner
A barbecue chicken dinner benefitting the Ammannsville KJT building fund will be held on Sunday, March 1 starting at 11 a.m. at the Ammannsville KJT Hall. The drive-thru-only plates will have half a barbecue chicken, potatoes & pinto beans and cost $15 each. There will be no advance sales and plates will be sold first-come, first-served.
Lions Club Nontraditional Student Scholarship
The Schulenburg Lions Club is offering one or more $2,000 nontraditional student scholarships. The scholarship can be used for secondary education, going back to school, graduate studies, work certifications, technical school, nursing programs, etc. Applicants must live in Schulenburg or work in Schulenburg and live in the surrounding area. Applications are available by calling the Chamber of Commerce at 979-743-4514 or at the Schulenburg Public Library. Applications must be submitted to the Chamber office by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18.
