Ray Edward Fogleman Sr., 79, of Schulenburg, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026.
Ray was born on June 20, 1946, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. He spent his early years growing up in Alexandria and Colfax, Louisiana, before eventually making his home in Schulenburg, where he lived most of his life.
A proud American, Ray served his country with honor in the United States Army Reserve. He dedicated many years of hard work to IMCO Muffler Plant until his retirement.
Ray was a man who truly enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. He loved fishing with family and friends, sharing stories, and telling his well-known “tall tales” – often with a Diet Pepsi in hand. Known for his friendly nature, Ray could strike up a conversation with anyone and leave them smiling. His warmth, humor and gift for connection will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Vera Fogleman; his daughter, Renee Fogleman; and his beloved wife, Carolyn Hoeinghaus Fogleman.
He is survived by his siblings, Alvin Fogleman, Leslie Fogleman and Joan Fogleman Lutez; his son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Cynthia Fogleman; his grandsons, Andrew Sebastian Fogleman and Seth Alexander Fogleman; and his great-grandson, Shiloh Tobias Delgado-Fogleman.
In his later years, Ray resided at Schulenburg Regency Retirement Community. The family would also like to acknowledge Fr. Jasper Liggio for all his spiritual care.
Funeral services and a celebration of life were held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, St. Mary’s High Hill Cemetery and God’s Embrace Conference Center.
“Ray’s legacy of laughter, storytelling and kindness will live on in the hearts of his family and friends until we meet again,” his family writes.
