Fayette County Farm Bureau Food Drive
The Fayette County Farm Bureau is holding a food drive from Wednesday, April 15 through Thursday, April 30. Donations can be dropped off at the Farm Bureau Office, 411 East Colorado St., La Grange. The food and cash donations will be given to Fayette County food pantries after the conclusion of the program.
In addition, a drawing will be held for three $200 Visa gift cards – one drawing entry will be given for donating five non-perishable items or $10 cash. There is no limit to the number of entries. Winners will be contacted on Tuesday, May 5.
St. Michael, Weimar, Spring Festival
The St. Michael Catholic Church Spring Festival will be held Sunday, April 26 at Veterans Memorial Park in Weimar. A fried chicken/sausage dinner will be served at 11 a.m. for $15 per plate, with drive-thru takehome plates available at St. Michael Family Center.
Music will be provided by the Czechaholics, 11 a.m.; San Antonio Combo, 2 p.m.; and Matt Bonner Band, 5 p.m.There will also be an auction (1 p.m.), bingo (2-6 p.m.), antique/classic car show, country store, cake walk, kids’ games (fish pond, train ride, plinko, etc.) and bounce house (11 a.m. to 4 p.m.) Hamburgers, cold drinks and desserts will be available.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Champion Valley Pot Roast Dinner
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Champion Valley will hold a drive-thru pot roast dinner onWednesday, May 6 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 615 South Eagle St., Weimar. The $15 plates will include pot roast, onion buttered potatoes, green beans, carrots and roll. Desserts will be available for a free-will donation.
