‘90 Miles on 90’ Sales
“90 Miles on 90” featuring more than 90 miles of antique sales and other treasures will be held on Friday and Saturday, June 5-6 along Highway 90 and throughout participating towns, which include Sealy, Columbus, Weimar, Schulenburg, Flatonia, Luling and Seguin. Maps are available on Facebook.
St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church ‘90 Miles on 90’ Meal, Vendor Spaces
St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, 712 Summit, will serve barbecue brisket sandwiches and combo meals with chips & drink on Friday and Saturday, June 5-6 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (or until sold out) in conjunction with the “90 Miles on 90” sale. For anyone looking for a location to set up during the“90 Miles on 90” sale on Friday and Saturday, June 5-6, St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, 712 Summit (Highway 90), is offering vendor spaces. There will also be a sale in the church hall. Vendor set-up will begin at 7 a.m. Overnight security will not be provided. To reserve a spot, contact Laura at 979-561-6478.
Sacred Heart Church-Flatonia Spring Picnic
Sacred Heart Church in Flatonia will hold its spring picnic on Sunday, June 7 starting with Mass at 10 a.m. A fried chicken/stew dinner with potatoes, green beans, saurkraut and dessert will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. (dine-in, drive-thru or walk-up) for $15 per plate. An auction will start at 1:15 p.m. There will also be children’s games opening at 11:30 a.m., dessert/grocery walk at noon, bingo at 2 p.m. and cornhole tourney at 3 p.m. Music will be by Chris Rybak & Band from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and by Fender Band after the auction until 8 p.m. . Hamburgers and gorditas will be available in the afternoon.
St. James Missionary Baptist Church Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School at St. James MBC, 1103 James Ave., will be held Monday, June 8 to Thursday, June 11 from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Ages 0-18 are welcome for a week of faith, fun and fellowship but children ages 0-8 must be accompanied by someone 18 or older Snacks will be served.
An end-of-session outing will be held on Friday, June 12 for a $10 outing fee. Youth must attend all sessions to participate in the outing.

St. Rose Parish Picnic
St. Rose of Lima Parish will hold its annual picnic on Sunday, June 14 at the KC Hall. Plates with jumbo fried chicken strips, sausage, potatoes, sauerkraut, green beans and dessert will be $15 each. Drive-thru will start at 10:30 a.m. and dine-in at 11 a.m. A live auction will start at 12:30 p.m. and there will also be a silent auction.
Music will be by the Airplane Band with Matt Bonner and Clayton Klesel starting at 4:30 p.m. (after the auction). Hamburgers, tamales, tacos, nachos, pudding, etc. will be served starting at 3:30 p.m. There will also be bingo (1 to 5 p.m.), cake/plant walks, country store, Jimbo’s Italian Ice and more. Kid Zone will include Jimbo’s Italian Ice, face painting (1 to 5 p.m) balloon artist (noon to 4 p.m.), bounce houses, and sandpit; tickets will be required for toy walk, ping-pong, ring toss and toy drawing.
