George Mendel, 79, a resident of Morada Assisted Living, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at 2 p.m. at Klein Funeral Home, 1400 West Main St. ,Tomball.
Born on June 23, 1946 in Hallettsville, he was the son of Henry and Adela (Gassman) Mendel. He and his wife Doris were married on April 4, 1970 in Houston. She preceded him in death on Tuesday, April 24, 2018.
George Mendel graduated from Bishop Forest High School and enlisted in the Army. He spent 30 years working as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He loved to work in the garden and go dancing with his wife Doris.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Shelly Mendel of Allen; brother Alton Mendel; and three sisters and two-brothers-in-law, Estelle Mendel, Elanora and Arthur Hoffman and Evelyn and Billy Lamza, all of Houston.
Klein Funeral Home of Tomball was in charge of arrangements.
