Veterans Appreciation Dinner & Dance
The third annualVeterans Appreciation Dinner & Dance will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12 at the KC Hall, 190 South Brown St., La Grange. Doors will open at 2:30 p.m. The event is open to all veterans and supporters as well as all citizens. Admission is $20 per person (presale only). Tickets can be purchased by emailing ball@txvets.org, calling 832-263-8845 or contacting a veterans organization representative.The event is sponsored by the Veterans Appreciation of Texas Foundation and hosted by area veterans organizations and auxiliaries.
September Services at Restitution Revival United
Restitution Revival United, 702 Hillje Ave., will hold services on Sunday, Sept. 13, noon to 2 p.m.; and Saturday, Sept. 26, church anniversary service, noon to 2 p.m. Pastor is Sha-Ron Heslep.

Tara Pietsch Benefit
A benefit dinner, auction and drawing for Tara Pietsch will be held on Saturday, Sept. 19 at the Ellinger Chamber of Commerce Hall. Doors will open at 4 p.m. Pulled pork plates with sides/trimmings will be served from 4 to 6 p.m. for $15 each (walk-up, drive-thru or dine-in). Advance tickets are preferred. Meal and drawing tickets are available at La Grange Chevron, NAPA-La Grange, Moravia Store, Shorty’s-Winchester, Fayette Water Supply Corp, Joe’s Place-Fayetteville, Orsak’s-Fayetteville, Pietsch Wealth Mgmt-Shiner and The Flower Box-Schulenburg.
A live auction will start at 6:30 p.m. and a silent auction will also be held. DJ music will be provided by Sound by Lathan Staal, and there will be a cash bar and set-ups.

Holman Catholic Church Drive-Thru Meal & Online Auction
The annual St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church drive-thru meal will be held on Sunday, Sept. 20 at the parish grounds in Holman on FM 155 between La Grange & Weimar. The plates, which will have fried chicken, sausage, buttered potatoes, sauerkraut, green beans, pickle and dessert, will be served starting at 10:30 a.m. Cost will be $15 per plate.
An online auction will also be held, with bidding from Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 9 a.m. through Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 8 p.m. Items can be viewed and bids placed at www.charityauction.bid/HolmanPicnic.
