Janet Marie Machac passed away on Monday, June 22, 2020 at St. Mark’s Medical Center in La Grange at the age of 66.
Janet was born on July 9,1953 to Fred and Helen (Kokes) Machac.
Janet is survived by her life partner of 34 years, Gene Zouzalik; brother, David Machac and wife Lynne; nephew, Cullen Machac and wife Madison; nieces, Julianna Machac and Hailey Machac; and great-nieces, Ella and Emmy Machac
A memorial service was held Saturday, June 27, 2020 from St. Rose Catholic Church. The American Legion Auxiliary led a memorial service at 10 a.m., followed by a parish rosary and Mass by Fr. Tim Kosler. Interment will take place at St. Rose Catholic Cemetery.
Janet was a member of the St. Rose Catholic Church, St. Rose Altar Society, American Legion Auxiliary, and a past director of the Schulenburg Festival Association.
Janet attended St. Rose Elementary School and Schulenburg ISD where she graduated in 1971. After graduation, Janet moved to Houston and worked for Texas Commerce Bank and Stedman Construction before returning to Schulenburg. Upon returning home, Janet worked at the Schulenburg Regency and College Place assisted living. Janet loved being around her family, friends, and especially the elderly. She will be most remembered by her yearly Trail Mix that she shared with many during the holidays.
