Pat Taylor O’Kelley passed away at Schulenburg Regency Nursing Center on Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2021 after a lengthy illness at age 92 years, 4 months, 30 days.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in High Hill, with Fr. Scott Hill officiating and interment in the church cemetery. Rosary was recited at 10 a.m. at the church prior to the Mass, led by Fr. Hill.
Born on March 11, 1929 in Lecompte, La., she was the daughter of Roy and Inez (Dyer) Taylor. She attended Lecompte High School. On Aug. 21, 1952, she married Doug O’Kelley in Baton Rouge, La. She lived in Lake Charles, La., from 1952-57, New Orleans, La., from 1957-61, Baton Rouge, La., from 1961-63, Houston from 1963-66, London, England, from 1967-69, and Houston from 1970-84. She was a retired realtor and member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Doug O’Kelley of Schulenburg; two sons, Mike O’Kelley and wife Terry of Houston, and Dave O’Kelley and wife Dion of Schulenburg; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Her parents and a brother, Jim Taylor, preceded her in death.
Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
