‘Happy Tails to You Under the Oaks’ benefitting Animal Shelter
“Happy Tails to You Under the Oaks,” benefitting the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 25 from 6 to 10 p.m. at Twin Oaks Ranch, hosted by Twin Oaks Ranch and Callisto Culinary, both located off Highway 77 midway between Hallettsville and Schulenburg. The address is 8289 US-77 N, Hallettsville.
Cool Freddie E & The Crew will provide music. A silent auction will include 2-hour entertainment at purchaser’s private event or party by Cool Freddy E & The Crew Band; private catered dinner for 10 by Callisto Culinary; and 2-night stay at Twin Oaks Ranch guest house (sleeps 6). Weimar KCs Chicken Fried Steak Dinner
Weimar Knights of Columbus Council 2153 will serve a hand-battered chicken fried steak dinner with sides on Sunday, Sept. 26 from 10:30 a.m. until sold out at the St. Michael Catholic Church Family Center in Weimar. The drive-thru-only plates will be $12 each.
Sacred Heart Parish-Flatonia Fall Festival
Sacred Heart Parish in Flatonia will hold its Fall Festival on Sunday, Oct. 3 starting with Mass at 10 a.m. A dinner featuring fried chicken, sausage, dressing and trimmings will be served starting at 10:30 a.m. (dine-in, drive-thru or walk-up) for $12 per plate. Bingo will start at noon and a live auction will start at 1 p.m. Krazy Kirb DJ will provide music after the auction. There will also be a horseshoe tourney, country store, cake walk, silent auction, children’s games and sausage wraps.
Schulenburg VFD Auxiliary Smothered Steak Dinner
The Schulenburg Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will serve a drive-thru-only smothered steak dinner on Wednesday, Oct. 6 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the KC Hall. The plates ($10 each) will include a 6-oz. smothered steak in gravy, mashed potatoes, squash casserole, green beans with bacon, roll and cookie.

Rosary Crusade for America
St. Anne and St. Joseph Societies of High Hill will host a Rosary Crusade for America on Saturday, Oct. 16 at 10 a.m. at the gazebo on Main St.
