Edward Floyd Jones passed away at Schulenburg Regency Nursing Center on Thursday, Oct. 7 at 4:15 a.m.
Graveside services were conducted at the Weimar Masonic Cemetery on Monday, Oct. 11 at 10 a.m. Pallbearers were Jack Polasek Sr., Steven Polasek, Gene Marx, Jose Rodriquez, Alex Reyna and Abel Kunschick.
Born on Aug. 8, 1949, he was the son of Floyd and Rosaline (Ward) Jones. He lived in Houston, Oakland and Schulenburg, spending most of his life in Fayette County. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Edward worked in downtown Houston at the Colonnade Restaurant for half of his work history. He then moved back to Oakland in the early 1990s before making his home in Schulenburg with his wife Helen. Edward worked at several restaurants and other facilities in the Schulenburg area. Edward married Helen Denham on June 18, 1994. Edward was a kind-hearted, generous and hard-working man. Edward got along with everyone around him. He loved meeting new people as well. Edward will be deeply missed by all.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; and two brothers, Allen Jones of Weimar and Faurice Jones and wife Deborah of Oakland. Preceding him in death were his parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts.
Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
