Maxine A. Stoner of Schulenburg passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021 at age 84 years, 7 months.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Schulenburg, with Pastor David Thompson officiating. Interment took place in the Schulenburg City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Clayton Stoner, Scott Stoner, Jordan Jurena, Matt Kessel, Nate Niskern and Jason Oncken. Named as honorary pallbearers were Dennis Lebeda, John Salem, Troy Gall, Melvin Barta, Elroy Dieringer, Michael Jurica, Karl Mendel and E.J. Filip.
Born on May 15, 1937 at Freyburg, she was the daughter of Ewald and Alma (Haas) Dieringer. She married Robert Stoner on June 10, 1956 and she was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Dinah Hansen and husband Keith of Schulenburg, and Helen Krecmer and husband Mike of La Grange; a son, Howard Stoner and wife Carmen of Schulenburg; eight grandchildren, Samantha Niskern, Ashley Krecmer, Becky Kessel, Tessa Oncken, Scott Stoner, Annie Stoner, Clayton Stoner and Jordan Jurena; and 11 great-grandchildren, Sidonia Hansen, Cecilia Hansen, William Reed Hansen, Henri Vincik, Rowan Niskern, Haddie Niskern, Cate Kessel, Camrie Kessel, Caraline Kessel, Cameron Oncken and Bryce Wilson.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Robert Stoner; parents; one brother and one sister; a daughter, Betty Jurena; and two grandsons, Robert Hansen and Kyle Stoner.
Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
