KCs Annual New Year’s Barbecue Chicken Dinner
The Knights of Columbus will serve their annual New Year’s barbecue chicken dinner on Sunday, Jan. 16 at the KC Hall starting at 10:30 a.m. or when the food is ready to be served.
The drive-thru-only plates ($12 each) will include a half barbecue chicken, buttered potatoes, pinto beans and pickle. No reservations are necessary.
KJZT Family Life Hostyn Society Soup/Noodle/Bake Sale
A soup-noodle-bake sale will be held on Sunday, Jan. 16, with pick-up at Queen of the Holy Rosary Parish Hall in Hostyn between 9 and 11 a.m. or at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Plum from 11 to 11:30 a.m.
Prices are: quart of chicken noodle soup $6.50; ½-pound bag of noodles (narrow or wide) $6.50; chicken salad sandwich $2; and chicken salad $4. To place an order, call 979-247-4441, ext 2.

Texas State Domino Tournament in Hallettsville
The 70th Texas State Domino Tournament will be held on Sunday, Jan. 16 at the Hallttsville KC Hall. Registration will be held from 7 to 9 a.m. and the double-elimination partner-play tourney will begin at 9 a.m. A loser consolation tournament will be held for the first two sets of losers.
A chicken barbecue dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with serving in the hall and plates-to-go available outside.

Wild Game Supper & Big Buck Contest Results
A wild game supper will be held on Friday, Jan. 21 at the Hallettsville KC Hall, with the doors opening at 5 p.m. Crawfish, deer, duck, hog, birds, chili, sausage, beans, duck gumbo, wild rice, etc. will be served.
Hall admission of $12 includes the meal. The evening’s activities will also include Big Buck Contest results. Monster trophies will be displayed, commercial merchant exhibits will be set up under the pavilion, and prizes will be given away.

Schulenburg Volunteer Fire Department Stew Supper
The Schulenburg VFD will serve a boneless beef stew supper on Thursday, Feb. 3 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the KC Hall. Cost is $10 each for the drive-thru-only plates. Tickets are available from any firefighter, or at Grahmann’s True Value, Fayette Savings Bank, Schulenburg Printing or the Sticker. Deadline to buy tickets is Monday, Jan. 31. A limited amount of tickets will be sold at the hall.
Weimar KCs Barbecue Pork Loin Dinner
Weimar Knights of Columbus Council 2153 will serve a barbecue pork loin dinner with sides on Sunday, Feb. 6 from 10:30 a.m. until sold out at the St. Michael’s Family Center in Weimar. Cost is $12 each for the drive-thru plates catered by Mikeska’s.
