Alma Dolezal Dusek was born on July 25, 1928 to Jim and Cecelia Dolezal. She graduated from La Grange High School She married Cyril Dusek on May 19, 1946 at Ammannsville. They were blessed with two children, Ron and Peggy, and spent their whole married life in Fayette County.

Alma worked at Stanzel’s airplane factory for many years and later managed Country Fresh Cleaners in Schulenburg. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and was very involved in St. Rose School and Bishop Forest High School. She loved sports, especially if her children or grandchildren were playing. Rain or shine, down the road or 100 miles away, she was always there. She loved telling family stories to everyone she met; no one was a stranger to her. After retirement, she enjoyed cooking lunch on a daily basis for her grandchildren. You never left her house without a full stomach, and if you weren’t hungry, she sent you off with money for later. She loved the Astros, was committed to the Catholic Daughters, and was a diehard Monday night bingo player. It did not matter if she won or not. She enjoyed playing because she was donating to a good cause and having fun.

She is survived by her children, Ron Dusek and wife Diane, and Peggy Kusy and husband Edward; also six grandchildren, Chad Kusy and fiancé Jamie Lusk, Jill Ahrens and husband Jeff, Slade Kusy and wife Sandy, Lee Kusy and fiancé Claire Hudgeons, Katy Genden and husband Mike, and Yvette Chalmers and husband Tim; eight grandchildren, Lexi Fowlkes, Branson Fowlkes and Kenzie Fowlkes, Emalee Fey, Rilee and Jewelee Kusy, and Andrew and Elizabeth Chalmers; and two great-great-grandchildren, Haven and Cam Shepard. She was loved by many.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Cyril Dusek; and two sisters, Loretta Cernoch and Janie Kallus.
