Christine King Kennedy, lovingly known as “Chris” to those closest to her, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 6, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength and deep family connection.
Born on Jan. 24, 1945, Christine was the daughter of Joe and Mable King. She grew up surrounded by family and lifelong values that she carried with her throughout her life. On Sept. 2, 1967, she married the love of her life, Jim Kennedy. Together they built a life grounded in love, commitment and devotion to one another.
Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Mable King; her beloved husband, Jim Kennedy; her brother, Harvey King; sister-inlaw, Lynda Moore King; and brothers-in-law, Brooks Laws and Charles Kilsby.
She is survived by her loving sisters, Joyce Laws of Weatherford, JoAnn Kilsby of Richwood, and Nina Howard of Schulenburg. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and greatgreat-nieces and great-great nephews, all of whom she loved dearly and who will carry her memory forward.
Christine dedicated many years of her career working for Dow Chemical, where she was known for her strong work ethic and reliability.
She will be remembered for her warmth, her kindness and the way she made those around her feel loved and valued. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
