Clinton Lee Cernik

Clinton Lee Cernik passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2022 due to a truck accident near Eagle Lake.

He was born in Weimar on Jan. 8, 1957 to Georgie Mae and Marvin Cernik of the Moulton area. He lived with his parents in Iran, Turkey and Afghanistan. Clinton graduated from Southwest Texas University with a degree in social work. He used that degree to work with mentally challenged people at the Austin State School and in Round Rock. After retirement, he then worked at HEB grocery store as a demo chef. His greatest joy was interacting with and helping people.

Later, he helped Marvin with the farm in Moulton before he passed in 2017. He cared for his three dogs and the remaining cattle. Clinton will be remembered for his joy of cooking. He enjoyed talking with people about his travels and the languages where he lived. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Survivors are a brother, Glen Ray and wife Sophie Mae; sister, Bonnie Kay Witt and husband Gary; nephews, Kith and Jason Cernik, and Cory and Aaron Witt; and great-nephews Daniel and Leo Cernik.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
