Cyril, also known by his dear friends as “Sonny,” worked for Colorado Valley Telephone, retiring in 1997 as the General Manager. After retirement, he continued working with the family’s egg operation, M&M Eggs. Cyril also continued to care for his cattle. He enjoyed working outdoors and riding his tractors. Cyril was a lifelong member of Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He devoted a large portion of his life to volunteering at church as an altar server and choir member in his earlier years then lector, Eucharistic minister and serving on the church board for numerous years.
He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and served as Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 2574. He was a member of KJT, KJZT, and worked closely for a number of years with the Hostyn Catholic Church Cemetery Association. Cyril served his community further, holding membership with the Rotary Club and the Lions Club. He was also a member of the Independent Cattlemen’s Association. Some of his hobbies included fishing, bowling and traveling to casinos on occasion to gamble. Cyril was the type of person who never met a stranger. He enjoyed going to cattle auctions to not only bid, but to take the opportunity to visit with fellow ranchers in the community. Grandchildren often went along and always enjoyed it.
