Diane Frances Polnick McCuan

Diane Frances Polnick McCuan, 70, of Schulenburg, passed away on Monday, Dec. 28, 2020.

Diane was born on Oct, 4, 1950 to Annie and Gilbert Polnick in Houston. After graduating from Sam Houston High School in 1969 Diane married her high school sweetheart Wayne W. McCuan II on June 14,1970. They started a family shortly after going on to have three children, Wayne W. McCuan III, Christie Anne McCuan Hugo, and Michelle Elizabeth McCuan Hammack. When Diane started her family she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. Diane excelled at being a loving, kindhearted mother and supporting the family through the many passions and difficulties of their lives by supporting them through events like hunting, fishing, sports, work, friendships and relationships. She made it her mission to love, guide, and care for others in her life.

Diane was passionate about taking care of her family and she was always filling her home with warmth and kindness. She worked hard as a operations supervisor at A.G. Edwards and Sons, which she dedicated herself to for most of her working years. She could also be found looking for rocks in nature, which was a passion that many people contributed to by bringing specialty rocks and gems back from their travels for her collection.

Diane spent her last four years in the loving care of the staff of Schulenburg Regency.

Diane was predeceased by her parents Annie and Gilbert Polnick, daughter Christie Anne McCuan Hugo, and her beloved husband and best friend Wayne W. McCuan II.

She is survived by son Wayne W. McCuan III; daughter Michelle Elizabeth McCuan Hammack/husband Daniel Hammack; brothers Julius “Sonny” Polnick/wife Maureen Gillis, and Eugene Polnick/wife Barbara Polnick; niece Becky Teague; nephews Sean Teague, Parker McCuan and Bryce McCuan; all of her grandchildren, Shelby McCuan Walker/husband Dustin Walker, Zacharias Hammack, Christopher Hugo, Hope Hammack, Ellie Hammack and Olivia Hammack; and great-grandchild Benjamin Wayne Walker.
