Ellen Jo (Ermis) Beyer, 74, passed away at her home in Schulenburg on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021. She had Parkinson’s for five years.

The funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021 at 11 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, with Fr. Tim Kosler officiating. Lector was Janie Beyer, granddaughter. Gift-bearers were Adin and Kaylee Beyer, grandchildren. Entombment took place in the St. Rose Mausoleum. Pallbearers were Trevor Beyer of Schulenburg, grandson; Anthony Scalise of Santa Fe, Texas, cousin; Kenneth Berger of Schulenburg, cousin; Jason Ohnheiser of Schulenburg, family friend; Patrick Ermis of Pearland, nephew; and Peter Ermis of Houston, nephew. Rosary was said Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at church, led by Fr. Kosler and the St. Rose Altar Society.

Born on Oct. 22, 1946 in Schulenburg, she was the daughter of Albert and Mildred (Kleckar) Ermis. She attended St. Rose School and Bishop Forest High School, graduating in 1964. On April 25, 1965, she married Milton Beyer at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. She spent her entire life in Schulenburg, and was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and St. Rose Altar Society. She worked at Stanzel Airplane Factory for over 30 years and Utex for 18 years. She was a homemaker and liked spending time with family. She also enjoyed trips to Rockport, watching cooking shows and reading food magazines. After church, she enjoyed breakfast with longtime friend Dorothy Pavlas and also enjoyed visiting with her Cousin Phyllis Scalise.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Milton Beyer; two sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Gina Beyer of Bryan, and Neal and Michelle Beyer of Schulenburg; a brother and sister-in-law, Denis and Kathy Ermis of Pasadena; and five grandchildren.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
