Erline Margaret (Meyer) Janik of Schulenburg passed away on Thursday, Dec. 16, 2021 at 10 p.m. in Cypress after a six-week illness. She reached the age of 91 years, 3 months, 2 days.
Funeral services were held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2021 at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Scott Hill officiating. Interment took place in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Greg Hermes, Mark Hermes, Chris Hermes, Harvey Popp, Darren Marek, Tyler Janik, Travis Janik and Bill Michalke.
Rosary was recited at 10 a.m. at the church on Dec. 21, led by Kenneth Miksch.
Born on Sept. 14, 1930 at St. John, she was the daughter of William and Emma (Brossman) Meyer. Her marriage to George Janik took place in October 1949 in Schulenburg. She was retired at the time of her death and she was a parishioner at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
Survivors include a son, William Janik and wife Lori of Cypress, along with four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, two sons and a daughter.
Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
