Eugenia Mary Reeves

Eugenia Mary Reeves, age 89 years, 10 months, 13 days, passed away at her residence in Schulenburg on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021. She died peacefully at home, surrounded by her family and caregiver. She was always so proud of her family and her last words were “I’m home” and “I love my family.”

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021 at 1 p.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, followed by interment in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Moulton. Officiating was Fr. Scott Hill. Pallbearers were Boe Reeves and Ty Reeves of Weimar, grandsons; Stacy Renner of Weimar, granddaughter; Tanya Reeves of Weimar, granddaughter-in-law; Averi Reeves of Weimar, great-granddaughter; and Ian Reeves of Weimar, great-grandson.

Rosary was said on Nov. 6 at 12:30 p.m. at the church, led by Rita Kasper.

Born in Hallettsville on Dec. 22, 1931, she was the daughter of Eugene and Mary (Krejci) Ermis. She attended Moulton School. She lived in Schulenburg for 52 years, and prior to that she lived in Moulton. She worked at Coastal Bank as a bank manager and loan officer and also worked at the Stanzel Model Aircraft Museum. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Lions Club, Red Hatters and Catholic Daughters. She served as a volunteer for the St. Rose Parish CCD program and Schulenburg/Weimar area Parents As Teachers.

Survivors include a son, Stephen “Scotty” Reeves of Schulenburg; three grandchildren, Boe Reeves and wife Vicki, Ty Reeves and wife Tanya, and Stacy Renner and husband Colby, all of Weimar; and nine grandchildren, Averi, Izabella and Elliott Reeves of Weimar, Ian, Austin and Adam Reeves of Weimar, and Tagen, Jayden and Reagan Renner of Weimar.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Eugene and Mary Ermis; a daughter, Lisa Reeves; and a grandson, Jay Reeves.

Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
