Julia Krischke

Julia Catherine Krischke, 83, of Schulenburg, entered eternal rest on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025.

She was born on March 2, 1941 in Flatonia to Paul and Olga (Baca) Mrnustik Jr. Julia graduated from El Campo High School. She worked for 25 years at Balzer Feed Mills as a bookkeeper, and she retired from Schulenburg Regency after many years as the head of maintenance and housekeeping. She was a member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas and St. Rose Altar Society. Julia took great delight in her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Krischke Sr.; parents, Paul and Olga Mrnustik Jr.; and brother, Edward.

She is survived by her children, Leroy Krischke Jr. of Schulenburg and Nancy McClure of League City; grandchildren, Jonathan Weller of Mifflinburg, Pa., Heather and Jacob Coffey of Victoria, Luke and Kacie Krischke of Schulenburg, and Catherine McClure of League City; great-grandchildren, Ella and Lane Krischke, and Mila Coffey; and brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Carlene Mrnustik Jr. of Boling.

Rosary was held Friday, Feb. 14, 2025 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and officiated by Kenneth Berger. Funeral services followed the rosary, with Rev. Anthony Augustine Owusu- Peprah officiating. The organist was Nicole Michalke and soloist was Bruce Lebeda. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Jonathan Weller, Luke Krischke, Brian Mrnustik, Mark Mrnustik, Jacob Coffey and Carl Trench. Honorary pallbearers were Michael Mendel, Jeremiah Bollinger and Chris Wood.

Memorials may be made to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, the Schulenburg Area Food Pantry or to an organization of choice.
