Larry Henneke

Larry Henneke, 69, of Schulenburg, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024 in Schulenburg.

He was born on Oct. 31, 1954 to Oswald Henneke and Laura (Schneider) Henneke in Sealy. On Dec. 3, 1995 he married Kathy Shimek. Larry worked as a rancher for many years. He was also a truck driver for Tornado Trucking. He was a member of St. Roch Catholic Church in Mentz.

Larry enjoyed working with his cattle and the time spent in the hayfield with his son Dustin. He was very proud to be helping raise his granddaughter Cheyenne. Above all Larry cherished the day he met his wife, Kathy, of 30 years. His love for her was extraordinarily deep and he was devoted to her until his last moments. He always said they “fit” together from their very first dance together. They followed the sport of truck pulling with OTTPA for several years with their truck, “Foolish Pleasure.”

Larry is survived by his wife, Kathy Shimek Henneke; son, Dustin Henneke and partner Shannon Braden-Kusey; step-daughter, Danielle Masson and husband Luis; brothers, Jerry Henneke and wife Carol and Robert Henneke and wife Connie; grandchildren, Cheyenne Henneke, Kassie Bell and Aaron Moffett; great-grandchild, Camden Moffett; and his adored fur babies, Nakita and Abbey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oswald and Laura Henneke; in-laws, Jerry and Gladys Shimek; nephew, Jerry “Butch” Henneke Jr.; and several close fur babies, Ambrosia, Barkley and Babina.
