It is with great sadness that the family of Magdalena “Maggie/ Nena” Martinez announces her passing on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at TruCare Living Center in Columbus at the age of 83.
Magdalena was born in Eagle Pass to Natividad V. and Maria Z. Martinez. She had been a resident in Schulenburg since 1969.
She is survived by her two children, son David Martinez and his wife Rebecca of Austin, and daughter Melissa Siems and her husband Marshall of Pearland, and her grandchildren, Ethan Martinez, Emma Martinez, Miles Siems and Max Siems.
She is also survived by her sister, Maria I Barrera (David) Barrera of Austin, and brothers, Paulo A. Martinez of Schulenburg, Navidad Martinez (Sylvia) of Cypress, and Hector Martinez (Robin) of Kingwood/Schulenburg, and also several nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Natividad V. and Maria Z. Martinez.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 28, 2026 from noon to 3 p.m. at High Hill reception hall, 12833 FM 2672, Schulenburg.
