Michael Val Rosas of Schulenburg passed away on Friday, Nov. 26, 2021 at 7:21 a.m. at age 51 years, 1 month, 7 days.
Funeral services were held on Friday, Dec. 3, 2021 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, with Fr. Scott Hill officiating. Interment took place in the Old High Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Corey Anders of Pinehurst, nephew; Mark Anders of Schulenburg, brother-in-law; Steve Strickland, Jason Strickland and David Orsak, all of Schulenburg; and Dustin Brown of Victorin, son-in-law.
He was born in Gonzales on Oct. 1, 1970 to Connie (Rodriquez) and Valentine Rosas. He attended Weimar High School, and right after high school he served in the Marines. On June 8, 2019, he married Leann Anders at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. A 44-year resident of the area, he lived in Weimar and Schulenburg. He worked for Perdue and was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. He enjoyed watching Dallas Cowboys football games.
Survivors include his parents, Connie (Rodriquez) Rosas and Valentine Rosas; his wife, Leann Denise Anders; two step-daughters, Heather Hermes of Schulenburg and Lindsey Brown of Victoria; two sisters, Mandy Fain and husband Geoff of Weimar, and Melanie Santos and husband Jamie, also of Weimar; and a grandchild, Mackenzie Brown of Victoria.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Helen and Pete Rodriguez and Antonia and Paul Rosas; a brother, Ronnie Rosas; and a sister, Melanie Rosas.
Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
