He was born Nov. 27, 1944 to Wilburn “Pete” and Cora Cornelson Wagner in Schulenburg. He was very proud of his German heritage and his years in Schulenburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his grandparents Emil and Julie Wagner and Bill and Tillie Cornelson. His oldest son, Sean Michael, also preceded Mike in death.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Dawn Laurel Halamicek Wagner and two children, Tricia Dawn Romero (Dr. Jason) and Jeffrey Ryan Wagner (Liz). Mike worked for Fannin Bank Houston, Allstate, First National Bank of Lake Jackson, Commercial State Bank and retired from Whites’ Home & Auto Store.

Mike was active in the Lake Jackson Youth Baseball and the El Campo Youth Baseball group. He always considered his classmates from the Schulenburg High class of 1963 as the best friends he ever had. He also will be able to see his dogs now – Tuffy, Doc, Buster, Lady and later Daisey – where all good dogs go – to Heaven.
